Float Tube Fishing Tournaments, Yep they have those

The Float Tube Fishing Forum has been around now for 8 years, and in that time we have developed a reputation for being in the mix of all things float tube.  Our job has been to spread the word about this amazing and sometimes miss understood sport.  It is also to promote safety, share tips and techniques and educate the newbies to the sport.  We have been doing this for the past 8 years now and I think we have done this well, but there is always work to be done and room to improve.

But about 5 years in we had some pushing from members to start a tournament series involving only float tubes.  This at the time seemed like a good idea, but quickly lead to some problems and the realization that we were not ready.  So that first attempted was ditched and we moved back to our strong suits, education, safety and just promoting the sport.  Will time heals old wounds and after about 2 years of growth we looked to be more prepared to run the Float Tube Tournament Series.  We are now in the second year and things could not be going any better.  Our tournament is open to anyone in the U.S. and we hope to expand to outside the U.S. in time.  You can fish any body of water that can be float tubed, and that includes both freshwater and saltwater.

The tournament runs for about 3 months twice a year and has some ever growing prizes.  Grand prize is a new Cumberland Float Tube and could be growing even more soon.  There are about 7 to 8 different fishing product companies that join up to promote and provide prizes like lures, apparel, and float tube related products.  At this point, we can say that this is running so well that we plan on continuing these tournaments for years to come, and if it goes like the forum it will just continue to grow and thrive as it moves on.  If you would like to know more or would like to get involved, please check out the Float Tube Fishing Forum or email us at jeffcpr2@gmail.com

Float Tube Forum Members Rock

My wife and I have for the last 11 years, been dealing with our 2 youngest kids and there medical needs.  It is a long story one which I have told a lot but now it has come to us needing to head out to Texas for some special research.  The cost of all the medical visits and medications has, cost me, last year 67% of my income.  So needless to say it has been hard for the last 11 years for us all.  Our kids are doing well we just need to continue to fight to try and find out what the issue truly is and hope that we can get a diagnosis.  If you would like to read more about this check out my other blog ( http://brucekatieb.blogspot.com ) It explains what we have been dealing with as best as I could explain.

Well why does the my Float Tube Forum members rock they are putting on a Fundraiser Gathering to help me and my family get to Texas for this research.  Everyone is invited and details can be found on http://floattubeforum.do-talk.com or e-mail me at jeffcpr@hotmail.com.

Here is what we got going on February 23rd. 5pm till midnight, $10 minimum pay in at the meeting spot.  fishing for spottied bass.  Catch and release so make sure you bring you scales and digital cameras.  The will be held at Mothers Beach Los Alamitos Bay, and like I said everyone is invited.  We will be tubing, but you can yak it or walk the shore, even swim if you like.  I am every proud of my Forum, these guys have helped me grow this site in to much more that a fishing board, and now they have out done themselves by talking this on.  With your help we will be able to make it to Texas to take part in this research and hopefully find some answers to help our kids in the long run.

Again for more info on the Fundraiser Gathering go to http://floattubeforum.do-talk.com and to find out more about my kids medical issue or maybe make a small donation go to ( http://brucekatieb.blogspot.com)  Finally for other question feel free to e-mail me at jeffcpr@hotmail.com.

Thanks
Jeff

FTFF 2nd annual Toy Drive

Well Christmas is coming soon, I know it is still more that a month away right now but it is time to start thinking of the kids and what they would like to get from Santa.  I am sure everyone know some one, some family that is in need this year for Christmas, so I wanted to put this out there for others to read.  Over on the Float Tube Fishing Forum, which is part of this blog we are running out 2nd Toy Drive.  Last year was a great time at Laguna Lake in Fullerton, were we meet up and donated toy to a local charity (The Spark Of Love).  Well this year we are at it again and we are setting up to crush last years donations.  This years we have 2 locations for drop off for gifts, and fishing will follow, as well as guys will be tubing.  The first location will be Newport Harbor, and the second location will be Perris lake on a different day.  At each location there will be a raffle held for some goodie bags filled with some donated fish products that will be much worth you showing up.
On the 22nd of December will be the drawling for the grand prize a custom built rod from one of our members of The Float Tube Fishing Forum.  You do not need to be a member to donated to this worthy cause.  But to be in the raffle you must be signed up before the events begin, and even though we are all about Float Tubing you don't need to be a float tuber, just come on out and fish with use for a great charity.  Below of the flyer please feel free to pass it along to others that you think might be interested.

For more info or details you can contact me at jeffcpr@hotmail.com or got the

Float tubing is a chance to bond

I will be heading out to Perris Lake this next Sunday for a small Tournament (listed below in the tournament section). This is going to be my first tournament I have fished since I was a teenager. And even better than that is this it is going to be with my oldest son. I am so looking forward to this for us, I think this is a great opportunity for the two of us to bond and grow. See my son is now hitting his teen years, and in full swing I might add, most of you know what I mean, for me this is not easy as it is new for me. The only other teen I have ever dealt with was myself so how does one prepare for these years with there kids.
If you are a new parent let me say congratulations, and enjoy your life it will change, challenges are ahead. For those of you that have been through this before, help me please. OK it is not that bad all the time, but when there are moments like this (he wanted to go) I know I need to grab it and take it for what it is worth. We will set out on Sunday morning to try and hook up with as many bluegill and crappie as we can find, and to try and win this tournament for the 1st place pay-out.
But I will also be using this time to teach my son how to tube and why I find fishing and float tubing to be one of my favorite activities. Again, it's a great time to bond with my son while floating on the water catching fish. If he learns something that is a plus, and if he catch’s something, even a bigger plus. But just being there with him is the biggest plus of all. Perhaps one day when he starts his family he will understand why this tournament, if his son wants to fish with him might be one of the best tournaments of his life also. As always stay floating my friends and I will be posting pictures of our big day.
