Float Tube Fanatics Fish Finder Mount

             We have been advertising the Float Tube Fanatics over on our Float Tube Fishing Forum and I want to just give a plug again to them for a great company and product.  They have been building these fish finder mounts for a few years now they are very well made and make a very simple and compact unit to house most any fish finder.  What I found to be the best thing about there product is that everything is all combined into one spot.  The battery for the fish finder is secured in the box which mounts the finder and the strap that holds the unit to the float tube also mounts the transducer.
           
              But now they have taken this one step further and made a fish finder mount system for small boats (ie Aluminum boats or Canoe's).  There design is just like the float tube mounts but instead of a strap to hold it in place there is a strong magnet and clamp to help mount the transducer and Battery box.  They overall mounting system is just like the original float tube design but just adapted to fix the need of the small boater.

The growth of our forum

The First Float Tube Fishing Magazine

I have searched and searched and have never found a magazine that was all about Float Tube Fishing.  So if you cannot find it then I guess you have to create it.  So that is what I decided to do, and it worked out pretty good.  The first issue that was published on line has done well with over 46,000 view so far.  I am working on the next issue right now and it will be ready in September.  Here is the first issue and stay tuned for the next issue.

Float Tube Fishing Forum Gatherings

Over on our Forum we are getting ready to have a gathering, which is just a chance for us to get together and fish as a group.  Also an opportunity to pass out all the donation from tackle companies Big Hammer, Pro-Cure, and The FTFF tackle store just to name a few of our sponsors and partners.  There might be a few others companies joining in as well only time will tell.

At this point there is about 17 members of the site all meeting up at the Southern California Location (you will need to become a member to learn date time and location.)

New float tube fins

Ok I know that I have posted this before but I think they are worth it. Omega Flip Fins have you seen them and if so do you have them. I don't have them yet but they are on my list, I just need my dive fins to finally take a dump, and this may never happen. Really i am looking for comments for others that have used these fins before.

They are not cheap $170, but if you are a true float tuber I think that they are very much worth it. I love the way they flip up in front to alow you to walk around (no more tripping on the banks of the lake infront of everyone else). And I don't know about everyone else but I like the dive fin for its moving ability, this has that same size flipper to really help move you around.

Again do you have these and if so let us know what you think do you like them or not.

Buck Bag Float tubes

I have been float tubing for about 10 years and really never paid much attention to anything other than what I was using. Well now I am looking, and I wanted to show you the Buck Bag float tube. There are 5 different tubes to choose from and while they don’t look different than any other tube there is a big difference in the bag.
Most of the U-Shaped tubes do not have a cross bar to spread the front, instead they have a galvanized seat frame, relax the seat is padded for comfort. Some of the seat are also adjustable front and back and the they keep you higher out of the water than regular U- Shaped float tubes.
The cost of there products are from the mid $100’s to $400 + I would like to try the Mustang pictured hear on this blog. Does anyone out there have any experience with a Buck Bag float tube and if so let us know what you think. As always stay floating my friends.

Finding a float tube for less

If you are looking for a first float tube and need to save some money or have very little to spend, it can be hard to find something. However I think a good place to start would be the Bass Pro Shop www.basspro.com and search for float tubes. The Bass Pro Shop has a White River Fly Shop brand that look to be worth a further inspection. The cost is under $80 and from what I can see has got some great reviews, and you can also compare them to the higher end float tubes out there. Yes most will say spend the money and you will be happier but I was and still am in the same boat as some, money is important so shop around and you maybe just as happy as everyone else on the water.
